Playing Santa

This post is from Tuesday night, but didn’t publish for some reason. Enjoy it now. 🙂

**********

I know that we are in the Easter Bunny season, not the Santa season, but today I got to act a bit like Santa Claus. After going going to the gym for a Power class + a bit of cardio and doing some things around the house, I took a lunch break to fill my belly up nice and round like Santa. 😉 I knew we were going to be gone quite a few hours in the afternoon, so I wanted a filling lunch. I opted for leftovers of last night’s yummy dinner.

One serving of whole wheat mini shells amped up with some low sugar natural tomato sauce, some chunks of Trader Joe’s Spinach & Mushroom Chicken Sausage, and lots of roasted veggies (squash, zucchini, mushrooms). It was very filling. And, er…very fiberific if you catch my tooty drift. About an hour after eating I got fairly uncomfortable from the gas. My belly was a hard, bloated ball. It fit with my afternoon Santa persona at least.

Today I got to play Santa by delivering lots of presents to my friend Angie who just had her baby.

lots of presents

and a cute diaper cake

and some dinner made by moi for them to eat

She came home from the hospital a couple of days ago and is still having to rest most of the time due to her C-Section and continued high blood pressure. So, I decided to go and keep her company for the afternoon while her hubby was working and her mom was out for a bit. I was so happy to see her!!! She looks amazing and is just shining with joy to have her little girl here and safe. It was so nice to sit and chat with her for awhile. And finally get her gifts to her from our friends, so she can have the finishing touches before her little girl comes home. Yep. The baby girl is still in the NICU, but is doing well and could be released by as early as Easter. What a blessing that would be for them. 🙂

Now, I must catch up on blogs a bit before my sister arrives for our weekly Tuesday night get together. Yay! And hopefully I won’t explode from that. Tacos are on the menu…which means black beans for me. Watch out lil sis and hubby! Bahahaa!
