Who’s Tina?

me and my darling

Hi! My name is Christina, although I do go by Tina as well. I am a woman of many passions. First and most important is my passion for my faith in God. I enjoy growing and learning in my beliefs. Even though I grew up in church, I have not always been a devoted Christian. I went through a rough period where I battled some depression, suicidal thoughts, negative self image, and living a rather indulgent lifestyle. Fortunately, I realized that such a life was not fulfilling and found myself turning to church for some relief. I will forever be thankful that God called me back into his arms, because I know without a doubt that my life would not be as fulfilled as it is now if it were not for Him. To help my faith to continue to grow and to learn new things and challenge myself, I currently lead an adult Sunday school class called The Goodlife and love it.

Then, of course, my wonderful family is a passion of mine. I am a mother of a beautiful baby girl, my little Makenzie. I gave birth to her on October 21, 2008 and my life has never been the same. She brightens up every one of my days with her smile and laugh. I am also married to the most wonderful and supportive man, Peter.  He helps me to pursue any passion I may have and is always encouraging me. Through the thick and the thin, I know he will be by my side and I could not ask for more.

My other big interest is fitness. I plan to go into a personal training career once I return to work from being a stay at home mom. Fitness and healthy living has always been a big part of my life. My fitness “achievements” range fromcompeting in a figure competition to working out up until the day before my daughter was born. 🙂

I also love to read. I typically enjoy chick lit and suspense novels with some mystical stories thrown in the mix. I read for fun, so you won’t find me with my nose in a serious classic. Reading is my escape haven. I like to keep it that way. I will do many reviews on this blog.

Other interests of mine are hiking, playing games with a group of friends, and UGA football.

Hey! i just discovered your blog. I’m so happy to see someone talk about their love of God in their blog. Not many people talk about God anymore :-/ I love him and when you love him you should praise him always!!!! 🙂 Really cute blog, love the name.

  8. Jennifer says:

Amen to sharing your faith so openly! Like the girl said in the comment above me, not many people who call themselves Christians, openly want to talk about God. I love that you credit God so much in your life. I’m taking a chance on my blog as well by having it be about health and fitness, but completely God centered. Fit at heart is about becoming fit starting from the inside out. I will for sure be keeping up with you. You and your family are beautiful!

  10. I’m so glad you came across my blog because it brought me to yours! It definitely sounds like we take the same approach to healthy living – one that balances a strong faith with fitness and good food! 🙂 I look forward to following you!

Wow! I just randomly came across your blog. Sounds like we share MUCH in common. My faith is the most important part of my life and I have competed in figure competitions. AND I too, battled many “negative thoughts”. Well, I’ll just be honest, I was moderately-severly mentally ill for many years. Prayer, meeting my husband, and five years in therapy changed that though. Yay!! Oh yeah and I like to read as well. I was an eng/lit major in college.

I love it when I “stumble” across a blogger who has walked a similar path. Look forward to reading more.

I was super excited to stumble across your blog! It truly made my day, to see someone not afraid to tell of their love of God.
I have been a christian since I was eight, but it wasn’t until I got back from Iraq two years ago and hit the lowest point in my life, that I finally threw in the towel and asked God to direct my path. Since then, I daily see how blessed I am and see his love at work. Once again thank you for posting your true convictions. P.S. Your daughter is adorable!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Like you, seeing His blessings daily makes it hard to hold it in and keep it private. I’m glad you stumbled across the blog too. It is great meeting new people through it 🙂

An fascinating dialogue is value comment. I believe that it’s best to write more on this matter, it won’t be a taboo subject however typically persons are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog.
Is it tough to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Many thanks
